Daily Bible Readings

Reading the Bible…many people want to do it, yet they don’t know where to begin. Some start a Bible-reading program, only to get bogged down and give up. The Essential 100 Challenge is simple, achievable, and creates a positive motivation for reading the Bible. The Essential 100TM passages--50 from the Old Testament and 50 from the New Testament--are usually one to two chapters in length and can easily be read in 10 minutes or less. They are carefully selected to cover all of the major types of biblical writing including Historical books, Poetry and Wisdom Literature, the Prophets, the Gospels, Acts, the Epistles and Revelation.
 
Although not required, you may want to consider purchasing the program’s optional devotional, The Essential Bible Guide. This easy-to-follow guide, which is appropriate for adults and teens, provides a devotional thought as well as a thought-provoking question on how to apply each reading to your everyday life. While supplies last, you can purchase the devotional at the Welcome Center in the church lobby for $8 or directly from the publisher at scriptureunion.gospelcom.net.
